Audio Drama Discussions

EVERYONE CHECK THIS OUT!!

Hi all, was talking to Stephen Butt from BBC Leicester who gave me this link. Its a French website with lots of drama content. Admittedly it is all in French but just click about and you can still enjoy the quality of the drama.

Scanner

Last week in PACE building at DeMontfort University, a Sonic Artist called Scanner came to do a talk. So called because during the 80's and early 90's he used to record people's mobile phone conversations and general transmissions by tapping into the airwaves with a scanner machine. Anyway, he has been involved in some cool audio and audio-visual projects around the globe. Thought I'd post up his website...

Radio Russia

This is really funky, more like a dance track or piece of sonic art than drama. I dont know if anyone saw but on Top Gear on BBC2 last week, the three of them made a similar little tune using parts of the old cars they were driving, very entertaining. I want to find out what the fascination is of using the sound of a flushing toilet. I guess its something everyone hears and is basically the same wherever you go. Even i recorded mine and might use it.

Borders

Both were really rubbish and not at all interesting. Neither grabbed me at all, they weren't about anything and didnt contain any interesting sounds or situations. I must post something cool up here soon. To preserve my own listening interests.

Sunderland Uni post

I think its great all the way up to where the reporter tails off. Didn't understand the need for the next part to repeat.

Really effective; sounds like they're in a confined space, trapped by the fire.
