Orwellian Internal Monologue
This is a good idea, enhanced with the ticking clock effect and the suspense of those waiting to 'get' the central character. However, it's never made clear if it is he who has gone insane or society. Judging by the noise from the people outside, they were having fun while he hid alone. So is it all in his mind?
