Radio plays from the Radio 3 Free Thinking Festival in Newcastle made on 24 October 2009

Hello everyone -   I've just put up most of the short radio plays we recorded up in Newcastle for the Free Thinking Festival.   We ran a workshop for 50 new writers, who then sent in short scripts on the subject of the 21st century family. We chose 9 to make.   The festival happens annually over a weekend in October, and is a celebration of Radio 3's speech programming. So on the Saturday morning of the festival, myself and two other directors met with our group of generous and enthusiastic local actors and made these pieces on location with little Marantz PMD 620 recorders.
